About Nick Penston

Nick’s career has spanned over 28 years. Having worked with Kentz Corporation in the middle East, North Africa, Spain, Holland and the UK, Nick gained invaluable experience on a wide range of projects including Industrial, Power, Oil and Gas, commercial, retail and healthcare projects.
Nick returned to Ireland in 1995 and joined V.M.R.A. Consulting Engineers, from there he moved to Mott Mac Donald as a director for five years, following this he was a co-founder of OCSC M&E.
Nick is now the Founder and Managing Director of Penston MEP Consulting Ltd, he provides leadership and direction for the M&E disciplines. He is an excellent Project Manager and takes great pride in every Project that he leads.
His main focus is to manage the company and to develop a culture of business development throughout the team, secure work through existing and new clients and act as a hands on key point of contact for clients and design teams.

Central Bank of Ireland
Nick was design lead for Mechanical & Electrical design of the new Central Bank property in Dublin
Jaguar Landrover, Shannon Free Zone, Shannon
The project consists of 2No. buildings, a 4 Storey Office building of approximately 6000m2 and a 3000m2 warehouse that is being converted to a workshop. Stage 1 consisted of a due Diligence and a watching brief of the landlord Mechanical & Electrical installation. PMEP reviewed the landlord documentation to ensure, the installation was in line with our client’s requirements. PMEP attended site on a regular basis to inspected the Mechanical & Electrical installation and provide bi-weekly reports to our Client on the status of the landlord &E installation. Stage 2 consisted of the traditional Mechanical & Electrical consultancy services where we provided detailed design for the CAT B fit out of the space. The full design of mechanical ventilation, air conditioning systems, comms room air conditioning, lighting & lighting controls, general services; protective services sprinkler system & EV Charging was provided.
Shire Fit out, Citywest
PMEP were commissioned to provide full M&E consultancy service for this fit out, the works were mainly on the first floor which was fitted out to a CAT B standard, and we also refurbished the reception area to the building.
Oracle Block A
PMEP were commissioned to provide full M&E consultancy service for this Platinum Grade LEED Office Fitout. The full M&E design included the complete HVAC system including VRF system, water services, drainage, general services, complete lighting design, generator installation, PV Panel & solar thermal installation. PMEP carried out a full thermal analysis and overheating study which incorporated the new façade and glazing. The project included a full catering kitchen and a gym which required a bespoke design in terms of ventilation and air conditioning. The lighting design included an enlighten control system ensuring optimal energy usage. PMEP were responsible for producing the LEED energy model and co-ordination with the LEED AP in regard to LEED Credits.
