The project consisted of a mechanical and electrical design for a Class 8 cleanroom facility for Quality Assurance testing adjoining a storage warehouse. The Clean room consisted of an Air Handling unit both supply and extracting conditioned air to the cleanroom through ceiling mounted terminal housing units with low level wall mounted extract units.
Adjoining the Clean room was a gowning area and airlock. Our design package consisted of the air handling unit design, air flow calculations, ductwork layouts, selection of filters, controls strategy. We also designed the associated electrical services, lighting, fire alarm, access controls.
We prepared the associated commissioning documentation in the form of a user acceptance test to meet the user requirements to deliver the Clean room without furnishing in an “as-built” condition.
The adjoining warehouse was both ventilated and heated through the use of high pressure ducted VRF units along with destratification fans.
